A little bit about me
Since first being able to hold a crayon I am at my happiest drawing and painting from my studio in the garden. I like to paint a variety of subjects from the landscape - trees, rocks, castle ruins and reflections in water. I consider colour, light and composition applying layers of paint and glazes.
I work in a variety of media including oils, acrylics, gouache, oil and dry pastels. The process of creating paintings, along with wanting to express how I feel, results in a rich tapestry of colour and texture.
As well as landscape paintings I have illustrated some traditional stories including the Firebird, The Skeleton Woman and the Crescent Moon Bear.
Over the last few years I've exhibited in a number of venues and Art Fairs. I have also run art demos and workshops for Art Societies.
During 2024 I exhibited at RHS Garden Wisley Craft Fair, Henley Country Craft Fair, Frome Open Art Trail and Somerset Art Weeks.
At the of 2024 I exhibited in the Inaugural show of the New Bath Art Club at the Roper Gallery, Bath. Also with the Art Circle pint Sized exhibition at the Raven, Bath.
I have had work shown at the Royal West of England Academy, The Mall, Bath Society of Arts Open, and Southampton Art Gallery. Currently a few of my paintings can be seen at the First View Gallery, Stourhead.
I am a member of the Bruton Art Society, Artists 303, Art Gallery SW, the New Bath Art Club and the Art Circle. I am currently the Events Coordinator for the Frome Open Arts Trail.
